5 Rules for Dealing With Your Doctor After Being Injured

Attorney Tyson Mutrux describes in this video, five rules for dealing with your doctor after being injured

Tyson Mutrux:  Hi, Tyson Mutrux with the Mutrux Law Firm.  Today I’m discussing the five rules for dealing with your doctor after being injured.

Number one is seeking treatment right away.  Any delay in treatment at all will be used against you by the insurance company.

Number two is your doctor is not your attorney.  Don’t discuss the legal aspects of your case with your doctor.  We don’t want that to affect your treatment at all.  We want you to get better.  That’s it.

Number three is don’t miss any appointments, okay.  Follow all of your doctor’s instructions and attend every appointment because if you missed any appointments, the insurance company is going to use it against you.

Number four is make sure you discuss any effects of your injuries on your ability to work.  We want to make sure that that’s documented somewhere.

Number five is keep good medical records.  Immediately after getting treatment, you want to document who you got the treatment from and get those records right away so that you can secure them for your claim.
