Another Week, Another DWI Round-Up by the MU Police Department
As if they didn’t have enough officers on the books already, MUPD used the assistance of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and Columbia Police Department to harass drivers from11 p.m. Thursday to 2:30 a.m. Friday of last week. The DWI checkpoint was conducted on Kentucky Avenue between Curtis and Richmond avenues.
MUPD made a whopping two driving while intoxicated (DWI) arrests during the sobriety checkpoint. A total of 251 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
In addition to the two DWI arrests, police also made three arrests for minor in possession (MIP), four arrests for marijuana possession, four arrests for drug paraphernalia, and one arrest each for false ID, felony warrant and zero-tolerance violation.
