Can I move if I’m on probation
Attorney Tyson Mutrux describes in this video whether you can move if you are on probation.
Hi! Tyson Mutrux here with the Mutrux Law Firm. Today I’m answering the question of, “Can I move if I’m on probation?”
The answer to that question is, “It depends.” It depends on your probation officer and it depends on if you’re trying to move out of state. If you’re trying to move out of state, that’s going to depend on the state that you’re moving to because many states have rules that you must have lived in the state for a certain amount of time before pleading guilty or being put on probation, so you’re going to check with that state prior to moving. The other thing you need to talk to personally is you have to talk to your probation officer. If your probation officer says, “No, it’s not going to happen,” then you’re likely not be able to move. If that does happen, you’ll probably have to file something with the judge. The judge will then have to issue an order on the state whether or not you can move.
