What to do with red light camera tickets

Attorney Greg Klote describes in this video what to do with red light camera tickets

Greg Klote:  Hi, this is Greg Klote from the Mutrux Law Firm and today we’re going to discuss red light camera tickets and we’re going to discuss how they affect your driving record and whether you should pay them or not.  Those are the questions on everyone’s mind.

First, it is non-moving violation. Usually, typically, there are hundred dollars fines, you may get something in the mail with the photograph of your license plates, kind of maybe a picture of you and the vehicle. It’s just like a parking ticket. It doesn’t go — there’s no points on your record or anything like that. Now, the question whether you should pay that or not, it’s totally up to you. What we tell clients is basically in the City of St. Louis they do not issue warrants for arrest if you don’t pay these tickets. Now, in other municipalities, they will issue either a failure to appear tickets which are additional fines or potentially a warrant. So you want to check your municipalities if you decide not to pay.
