Hi, Tyson Mutrux of the Mutrux Law Firm. Right now what I wanna do is I wanna discuss signs of a concussion after an auto accident. The reason why I wanna talk about them is, they’re often overlooked in the emergency room, and you don’t see them until days, weeks or months later after the accident, and many times if you’re not watching for it you don’t know what it’s related to. So, some things you wanna look for are: dizziness, confusion, disorientation. If you see that you’re more tired than you used to be — those are all signs — even signs of ringing in your ears. One of the telltale signs is actually headaches. So if you see any of those signs and it was days, weeks, even months after the accident, check in with your primary care physician and let them know that you have an auto accident, that you’re not used to the ringing, the headaches, whatever the signs maybe, and at least get evaluated.
A concussion is a brain injury. People don’t think of it as a brain injury. They think of it as just concussion is just another thing, but it’s a brain injury, so you definitely need to have that evaluated.
