What are reasons an injury attorney would reject my case?
Attorney Tyson Mutrux describes in this video what are reasons an injury attorney would reject your case
Hi! Tyson Mutrux here with the Mutrux Law Firm. Today I’m answering an interesting question that I’ve received today and that is, “What are some of the reasons why a personal injury attorney would reject my claim case?”
And it’s really going to depend on the attorney; however, I’ll tell you, in our office, some of the reasons why. There’s no interest or no one to go after, so if the person has no money, why are you going to go after him because you’re not going to get anything? If you’re just wanting vengeance, well, it’s probably just going to waste your time and your money. Another reason, maybe you’re at fault; if you’re at fault, an attorney’s going to turn that out and I’m probably not going to take it unless the other side is substantially at fault, then I will, because in Missouri we can still recover for you in those claims. If there’s not a lot of property damage or if you didn’t get a lot of treatment, in cases like that, you may just handle the claim on your own; you may not need an attorney. Another reason maybe that it is just time; if the attorney does not have time to take on the case or maybe they just take on a certain type of personal injury case; for example, some attorneys just take on product liability cases, others will only take on medical malpractice cases; it really depends on that attorney. So, those are some of the reasons why an attorney may reject the personal injury case.
