What is a Tort?
Attorney Greg Klote describes in this video the definition of a tort.
This is Greg Klote from the Mutrux Law Firm and today we’re going to talk about Torts. The definition of a Tort is a civil wrong, other than a breach of contract for which someone can be awarded damages for. They are claims against other civilians or citizens who have done wrong to that plaintiff or that person.
There are many different types of Torts. There are torts for personal injuries, car accidents, or premise liabilities. There is torts for defamation when people have made up accusations about other people. There is also torts for intentional things; battery, assault, and property issues like stealing and trespassing.
